The Leibniz Institute
The Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research is a world leading institution in the field of plant genetics and crop science. Key competencies are high throughput plant phenotyping in controlled environments and simulated fields; quantitative, molecular, and systems genetics; modelling and network analyses.
In CAPITALISE, lead by Prof. Dr. Thomas Altmann they will be responsible for coordination of high throughput phenotyping and will play a leading role in the development, implementation, and use of plant phenotyping technologies and procedures for non-invasive measuring plant characteristics in terms of biomass, architecture and physiology in a quantitative manner. This will enable CAPITALISE to efficiently detect the factors in the genetic makeup that determine characteristics in their interplay with the ‘natural’ environment.
