VRIJE University Amsterdam
The Biophysics Group at the faculty of sciences at Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam is a world-leading laboratory in the field of photosynthesis. The group has extensive experience in biochemistry and provide analysis at the protein level. Prof Dr. Roberta Croce will be responsible for selecting mutants with reduced chlorophyll content. The work will involve the production of new mutants by gene editing and the functional analysis of these mutants and of other mutants identified during the phenotyping screen. Bringing state of the art equipment and world-renowned experience in ultrafast spectroscopy (essential for demonstrating the fate of light in the antenna) Vrije Universiteit is fully set up for electron transfer (Joliot-type spectroscopy, fluorescence, O2 analysis) and protein and pigment biochemistry.
